A few days ago, Rolls-Royce unveiled the world’s first high-speed marine engine powered exclusively by methanol.
A breakthrough in sustainable propulsion technologies and a project in which we, as WTZ Roßlau, are playing a key role.
Under the name #meOHmare, Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG, Woodward L’Orange GmbH, and we are working together toward a common goal:
to bridge the gap between vision and the practical application of climate-neutral propulsion systems.
For us at the WTZ Roßlau, this means:
research, development, and many months of intensive work…especially in the areas of injection systems and combustion processes, which are essential for the operation of a high-speed engine running on methanol.
The fact that this engine is now running on the test bench is more than just a technical achievement.
It is a sign that sustainable shipping is not a thing of the future, but of the present.
I am proud of our team, whose expertise and passion helped make this milestone a reality.
And I am grateful for the strong partnership with Rolls-Royce and Woodward L’Orange, which demonstrates what is possible when research and industry truly work together.
