A first-class partner must be able to test at the highest level

Test benches

A test bench with high-quality, state-of-the-art measurement technology is available for each model series and number of cylinders, on which the gas and diesel engines can be operated both with natural gas from the municipal network and with various liquid fuels. The tests on the test bench enable optimum tuning of the gas and diesel engines with different gas and fuel qualities. This eliminates the need for time-consuming adaptation processes at the customer’s premises.
Extra-engine tests of mechanical components and flow tests are also carried out on specially designed test benches. The advantage for the customer lies in the reduced development time, the rapid variation of test components and thus cost and time savings for conversions.
The WTZ Roßlau plans and builds test bench setups including the testing and adaptation of components and assemblies.

The WTZ Roßlau develops and operates test benches:

  • for combustion engines in the power range from 250 to 7350 kW
  • for single-cylinder research engines with forced induction up to 10 bar
  • for testing and measuring injection systems with measurement of engine parameters, emissions, combustion processes and creation of evaluations

Our engine test benches are equipped with modern dynamometers and measurement technology.

In addition:

  • Data acquisition and evaluation systems
  • Indexing technology for crankshaft-related signals
  • Volume flow meters
  • Measuring systems for exhaust emissions

Large engine test bench

  • Motor peripherals for motor outputs up to 4000 kW
  • Towing equipment up to 400 kW
  • Water vortex brakes with braking power up to 4400 kW
  • Peripherals for diesel, natural gas and heavy oil operation
  • Base area of the swing foundation 22.0 m x 10.0 m
  • Crane for loads up to 80 t
  • External charging up to 9 bar
