Decarbonizing large engines is necessary, but how can ammonia be fed into the engine efficiently and cleanly?

Our research provides answers… a first glimpse will be offered in Graz.

That’s because at SMTP25, we’ll be presenting our latest findings on ammonia combustion.

I am pleased to represent the WTZ Roßlauat the 20th Symposium on Sustainable Mobility, Transport, and Power Generation (SMTP25) in Graz.

Together with my colleagues Karsten Stenzel and Phillip Thorau.

In addition to our booth featuring an injection demonstrator, I am particularly looking forward to Phillip Thorau’s scientific presentation, in which we will introduce new approaches to dual-fuel combustion of ammonia.

In his presentation, “Experimental Investigations of the Factors Influencing High-Pressure Dual-Fuel Ammonia Combustion in a High-Speed Engine,” he will discuss the following topics:

✔️ How spray interactions, piston geometry, and operating parameters affect ammonia combustion in high-speed engines.

✔️ The role of high-pressure fuel injection in reducing emissions.

✔️ Why targeted variation in injection strategies can be key to efficiency and emissions reduction.

👉 Without giving too much away: The findings provide exciting insights for the further development of low-emission propulsion technologies in the field of large engines.

📍 If you’re in the area, feel free to stop by. We look forward to exchanging ideas and having inspiring conversations about the future of mobility.
