The research topic is carried out in cooperation with DBI- Gastechnologisches Institut gGmbH.

The objective is to increase the efficiency of biogas-powered engine CHP units by recuperating exhaust gas heat into additional fuel energy, and to reduce engine exhaust gas emissions. For this purpose, the dry reforming process is used, which partially converts biogas into an H2-rich reformate, thus upgrading its energy value and feeding it to the engine. This reduces biogas demand and lowers emissions (formaldehyde, CH4, NOx).
