The Innovation Day for SMEs of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy took place for the 25th time on June 7, 2018. It is the annual meeting place for innovative SMEs and representatives from politics, science and business.

At the anniversary event “in the green” on the open-air site of AiF Projekt GmbH in Berlin-Pankow, more than 350 small and medium-sized enterprises, research institutions and cooperation networks from all over Germany presented over 200 results of their research and development projects, which were made possible with the support of the BMWi.

The majority of the new products, processes or services presented were brought to fruition with the help of the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM), in whose ten-year history over 5.5 billion euros in funding has been approved and over 40,000 innovation projects launched.

As a showcase for German SMEs and a showcase for successful innovation promotion, Innovation Day has developed into a brand that is very well received by companies and research institutions as well as by politicians and administrators.

WTZ Roßlau gGmbH, represented by Mr. Enrico Rothe, Mr. Carsten Tietze and Mr. Johannes Bauer, presented itself with the topic “Development of a highly efficient electric glider” and generated a lot of attention and lively interest among the visitors of the WTZ booth with the exhibition of the prototype.

Once again, WTZ Roßlau gGmbH presented the development results from the successful ZIM projects at the Innovation Day for SMEs and thus took advantage of the special opportunity to discuss the topics of current innovation development and the challenges of the future with the creative minds of SMEs.
