After intensive discussions and efforts, the WTZ team was awarded the contract to manufacture and operate a single-cylinder research engine. The single-cylinder engine is manufactured on the basis of the proven WTZ engine family. Assembly and installation on a state-of-the-art WTZ engine test stand is followed by a test program lasting several months. The single-cylinder engine will be used as a development tool for testing future alternative fuels and is scheduled to enter service in the first quarter of 2023.
