Ammonia is a promising energy carrier for transporting hydrogen in large quantities and over long distances, but direct use as a fuel is also possible. With the infrastructure now available, we are one of the first research institutes in Germany to be able to carry out tests with ammonia on our engine test beds. One of our first research projects is the AmmoniaMot joint project on the use of ammonia inCO2-neutral ship propulsion systems.
