Summer in a bottle? That’s what LOHC is all about!

Published by

Imagine if you could store summer in a bottle – not the heat, but the energy!

This is exactly the idea behind Hashtag#LOHC. (an oil that acts as a storage medium for hydrogen)

Perhaps you remember our last update on the LOHC?
📌 Here it is 👉 https://lnkd.in/euXh_Y4y

But let’s take a look at the heart of the engine today.

While many hydrogen projects rely on fuel cells (FC), we use a robust, cost-efficient solution:

❗A modified combustion engine that places lower purity requirements on the hydrogen❗

In concrete terms, this means

✅ less processing of the hydrogen compared to FC,
✅ lower costs than FC
✅ …and the possibility of reusing existing engine technologies!

So we want to…
🔹 Not only recover hydrogen from LOHC,…
🔹 …but also use an H₂ combustion engine as an alternative to the fuel cell.

❓Where are we now❓
The system is largely complete, the integration of the components and the pipework are currently underway – the next steps are the control system, sensors and final tests.

This means that renewable energy could soon be reliably usable even in dark doldrums.

By the way: This is a project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. The project sponsor is EURONORM GmbH.
